421 x Ceibo, a cultural Christmas Eve

Last night, all three of us were guests on Ceibo's stream to chat a bit about 421. Before we knew it, we had spent two and a half hours talking about how we put together this media outlet and also about our long-term vision for Argentine culture and how to operate in this landscape.

It was a great experience. The three of us had never been together in front of a microphone, on behalf of 421, reflecting on some of the fundamental questions of what we do: what stories to write, how to fund an independent outlet, what kind of relationship to build with the audience, and how to handle money.

In the end, we didn't have a public "live" record of conversations the three of us have had over and over again, although Hernán had interviewed us on record for El Planteo and Hitoshi had chatted with Juan and Juanma on Animal Boy Radio.

For these divine 150 minutes, we thank our friends at Ceibo for their generosity in inviting us, opening up their space, and, on top of that, ending the night with an asado. And we glorify Tano GB for steering this conversation and his all-around support of 421.

That said, this post is also a way of thanking those who have been with us, whether from launch day or later on, subscribed or not, wizards, paladins, and goblins. And it serves as a sort of year-end review and farewell to 2024.

We're going to take advantage of these holiday weeks to rest a little and come back in the second week of January with our regular programming delivery. We'll also use this time to send out pending newsletters and subscriber drops.

On our end, we're very happy with the growth 421 has been experiencing, with the quality and tone of the pieces we've managed to put out, and with the outlook we have for 2025. The idea is to continue on this path of only posting articles that are authentic, about things that genuinely interest us, without clickbait and without any kind of external modulation beyond our own.

We are convinced that this is the way and that persisting with a noble method can only bring positive results.
