This past Saturday, March 29, the national qualifying championship for the Red Bull Kumite Street Fighter 6 tournament took place at the Abasto Shopping Center. Since 2015, the RB Kumite has established itself as one of the most important competitions in the world of fighting games, alongside classics like EVO or Combo Breaker, and those organized by the game developers themselves, such as the Capcom Cup.
The Street Fighter franchise is synonymous with these competitions and, essentially, the father of fighting games: each title has brought something new over these 38 years. And now it's reclaiming the spotlight in fighting game tournaments, competing with titles like Tekken, The King of Fighters, and to a lesser extent, Mortal Kombat.

The tournament featured Argentina's top 16 players in a best-of-5 format with the classic winners and losers brackets. This type of tournament means, for example, that we can get rematches between players since they can face each other more than once. And that's exactly what happened, as the grand finals featured Venezuelans Salvatore and Ceifcool, both from the Unga Bunga Team.
In the first round, they clashed with a decisive 3-1 in favor of Ceifcool. Meanwhile, Salvatore, who had recently competed in Japan's Capcom Cup, won the grand finals playing Cammy against Ceifcool's demonic M. Bison (who had already given him headaches in the earlier part of the tournament); and he will now travel to Paris to represent Argentina and Venezuela at the Red Bull Kumite International Finals.

The final chapter of the tournament will take place on Saturday, April 5 and Sunday, April 6, and it's already known that in his first match Salvatore will face Taiwanese player ZJZ, who has two EVO tournament wins in The King of Fighters.
Within the Top 8, it's worth noting that in addition to Salvatore and Ceifcool, Unga Bunga Team placed two more players, making up 50% of the top with Frozen (4th) and Dookie (5th). This shows the current strength of the team. Additionally, independent player Leeito94 took the bronze, Shaka22 (from Gamestation E-sports) finished 6th, and Adept came in 7th and Stetik in 8th place.
